Symposium on Exhibition Design

Symposium on Exhibition Design

The Reykjavík City Museum is hosting a symposium on exhibition design on Wednesday, 22 May, from 15:00 to 17:00 at Árbær Open Air Museum. Participation is free, but registration is necessary. The symposium, conducted in Icelandic, promises to be a rich learning experience.

The event is a follow-up to the Design March and features discussions on exhibition designs showcased during the festival. Curators and designers will share insights into the challenges and opportunities encountered in recent and ongoing projects, focusing on the delicate balance required to design exhibitions that honour sensitive artefacts and encompass comprehensive history, especially in listed buildings. The symposium aims to give visitors a deeper understanding of museum exhibition design. Light refreshments will be provided.
