Folk Dance Evening at Árbær Open Air Museum

Are you interested in folk dancing? On Thursday, 30 April, at 19:00–21:30, there will be a folk dance evening at Lækjargata at Árbær Open Air Museum. Atli Freyr Hjaltason from the Reykjavík Folk Dance Association will introduce Icelandic folk dances to guests, teach the basic steps, and present the association. Free admission and everyone is welcome!

Folk dances come in many forms, and there is no need to bring a partner—although it’s always nice to come with friends. Come and learn vikivaki, ræll, waltz and much more! Basic steps taught at 19:15–19:45 Dances taught at 20:00–21:30 Accessibility: Most of the paths in the museum area are gravel paths. Most of the buildings are accessed by climbing one step or over a threshold. Assistance dogs are welcome in the museum. Buses: The nearest stop is called Árbæjarsafn (1 min. walk). Other nearby stops are Laxakvísl and Fagribær (5-6 min. walk). Parking for the disabled is available at the entrance to the museum. All parking is free.
