Are you learning Icelandic? The Reykjavík City Museum offers a guided tour of Aðalstræti 10 and 16 for people who are learning Icelandic. The tour will take place on Saturday, 14 November, from 14:00 to 15:00. The tour will be led by Katleen Abbeel, who will provide information and stories in clear and easy-to-understand Icelandic.
The guided tour starts at the Settlement Exhibition, Aðalstræti 16. There you'll find the ruins of a house from the 10th century and an exhibition about the life of the first inhabitants of Reykjavík. The guided tour continues in the oldest house in the centre of Reykjavík, Aðalstræti 10. There is an exhibition about the development of Reykjavík to the present day. The guided tour is free and is for people who are learning Icelandic, both for beginners and those who know more. The museum is a good place to practice Icelandic. Access is good in Aðalstræti. Please note, however, that there is dim lighting inside the exhibition hall by the ruins and the floor is uneven. Assistance dogs are welcome in the museum.
