Queer Flag History - Sindri Sparkle's Stand-up on the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia

Welcome to a stand-up show about the history of queer flags with Sindri Sparkle. --- Spoken language Icelandic --- The stand-up takes place at Árbær Open Air Museum on Sunday, 17 May, at 15:00–16:00, on the occasion of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia (IDABOBIT) and the International Museum Day. Free admission and everyone is welcome!
Sindri “Sparkle” Freyja is a comedian, writer, actress, graphic designer, and more. In recent years, they have built their career around the stand-up and drag scenes of Reykjavík. Despite that, they are still mostly known for appearing naked on national television screens a few years ago. They are also one of the world’s leading experts on the history of queer flags. They have toured their shows internationally and won numerous awards, including the Nordic Fringe Network award from NFN and the Rising Star award from the Reykjavík Fringe Festival. The Reykjavík City Museum received rainbow certification in 2022. https://reykjavik.is/en/rainbow-certification-reykjavik Accessibility: Most walking paths in the museum area are gravel. Entry into most houses requires stepping up one step or over a threshold. Assistance dogs are welcome in the museum. Public transport: The nearest bus stop is Árbæjarsafn (1-minute walk). Other nearby stops are Laxakvísl and Fagribær (5–6 minute walk). Parking: Accessible parking spaces are located at the museum entrance. All parking is free.
