Collage workshop for children with Telma Har

We welcome children and their families to a collage workshop with Telma Har on Sunday, April 6. Participation is free.
The workshop is held in connection with Telma Har’s exhibition, Glam Pics, currently on display at the Reykjavík Museum of Photography. The artist will guide participants in creating fun and diverse collages using photographs and various materials. We encourage participants to bring their own photos (e.g., self-portraits) to incorporate into their artwork, but plenty of materials will also be available on-site. The workshop suits all age groups, and parents are encouraged to participate with their children. All materials will be provided. The exhibition Glam Pics consists of colourful and semi-surreal photos that the artist Telma Har has put together in many ways. In her art, Telma deals with her own identity, which has been shaped by heredity, upbringing, and environment. In her work, she uses herself as a mannequin to portray certain ideas and experiences and thus interpret the idea of the self and the reality to which it belongs. Telma uses the camera as a tool to create unreal and abstract footage, highlighting different forms and compositions of the parts included, thus raising questions about norms and standards of beauty, gender, and status. Access for people with disabilities is good. Service dogs are welcome at the museum. Public transport: The nearest bus stops are called Hafnarhús, Lækjartorg, Ráðhúsið (2–5 min. away). Parking places are available by the museum and in neighbouring parking houses in Vesturgata 7 and Hafnartorg.
