Growing Pains - Can you find these old objects in the school exhibition?

During the winter school break, we invite children to a fun treasure hunt inside the exhibition Growing Pains. Admission is free for children and adults accompanying them.
Growing Pains is an experiential exhibition emphasizing creativity, education, imagination, and playfulness. Visitors get an insight into the world of primary school children in Reykjavík between 1898 and 1974. Today, most people living in Iceland take education for granted and even find it hard to imagine that it was not a given. However, it was not so long ago that education was considered a human right. You can get a printout of the treasure hunt at the museum reception or use the QR code provided at the museum. The game starts in the museum square. Accessibility: The museum’s footpaths are mainly gravel. Many historic houses have steps and thresholds. Service dogs are welcome. Public Transport: Nearest bus stop: Árbæjarsafn (1-minute walk). Other stops: Laxakvísl and Fagribær (5–6 minutes away). Free parking, including blue-badge parking spots opposite the entrance, is available.
