The exhibition comprises individual work creating an integral whole. The theme of the exhibition is time and reccurrence of the past thus the title is not only a reference to the way that the past resonates throughout the present, but also in the way that the works on display resonate with one another. Hauksdóttir and Thomsen both studied at the San Fransisco Art Intistute at the same time, graduating with MFA in Photography in 2004.

Charlotta María Hauksdóttir´s series "Horfur/ Outlook" is taken in Iceland over a nine-month period spanning from the autumn of 2008 to the spring of 2009. It was made during a turbulant time in Iceland and is in the shape of a book, which is folded out like an accordion. At first, the photos look practically the same but when thoroughly looked, seasonal changes  as well as changes indoors can be detected. In "Baksýnisspegillinn / Reflection", photo series taken of a car´s rearview mirror, we see two angles at the same time; both what is happening in front and behind.

The American photographer Sonja Thomsen allows us glimpses of a life which, at first sight, appears to spring out from the unconscious. She stirs involuntary memories, then asks the viewer to grant them new meaning as Sigrún Sigurðardóttir cand.mag in modern culture says in a text she writes about the exhibition. Lacuna is an installation on a wall. Some of the photographs are produced in stacks, glued together, so guests are invited to peel them off and have a copy for themselves. As the stack diminishes, next photo becomes more obscure. Ripe , is a sequence of 18 scenes on a monitor behind a drywall so the viewer looks at the images through a hole in the wall. We only see a tiny fragment of reality, never the full picture. In Proscenium we are looking out through a window to the Gulf of Mexico and the curtain is creating a frame or impersonating a stage. What we see is the still static image that slowly changes as the images kind of emerge from one another. 

Charlotta María Hauksdóttir is a photographer, who lives and works in Palo Alto California. She graduated with MFA in Photography from San Fransisco Art Institute in 2004 and BA in Photography from Istituto Europeo di Design in Rom, Italy in 1997. 

Sonja Thomsen is a conceptual artist working in photography and installation. She graduated with MFA in Photography from San Fransisco Art Institute in 2004 and BA in Biology and Arts from Kenyon College in 2000. She lives and works in her hometown Milwaukee í Wisconsin.
