In the series “The Isle of Human” we find animals in unexpected places. The animals occupy the spaces as if it was their natural habitat. The images are manipulated and constructed from at least two separate images. The idea of placing exotic animals in a city environment stems from my / the photographers interest in the fight for new territories that humans are increasingly involved in. But humans still have to find a way to live together. There is no final answer to this question, but the theme can be intellectually and visually stimulating. 

Johan Rosenmunthe (1982, Copenhagen, Denmark) finished his study of photography at Fatamorgana in 2006. His recent solo exhibitions include two galleries in Denmark, Tom Christoffersen  Falkener Project. Rosenmunthe‘s work is represented in the collection of the Danish Arts Agency. He is included in several international group exhibitions and publications, and the co-founder of photographic collective Løber Nøgen.
