The exhibition "Karólína, the Weaver", at Kornhúsið gives an overview of the life and work of Karólína Guðmundsdóttir (1897-1981) who learned weaving in Copenhagen, and for several decades she ran a weaving atelier on Ásvallagata in Reykjavík.

Bright colours and innovative colour combinations typify Karólína‘s work, manifesting influence from Denmark. Her time there coincided with a period of renewal in traditional weaving, which was adapted to modern times.
