First, there are “The Kiosks”, 11 large color photographs from 1989–1999. Then there are large, black-and-white photographs, most of which were taken in the city center, which are largely related to the registration of all the houses in Kvosin district in 1986–87. Furthermore, there is a series of small, black-and-white photographs, a kind of “caught and paid in bluesy Reykjavík” and finally some photographs from a series about the outskirts of the capital area, which has the working title Smálönd (Small Lands).

Guðmundur Ingólfsson studied photography with Otto Steinert at Folkwangschule für Gestaltung in Essen, Germany, in 1968-1971, and was his assistant for a time. Guðmundur has run the Ímynd photgraphic studio since 1972,  and has taken photographs of all kinds, but especially for advertisements and the theatre.
