Oddvar Örn Hjartarson, photographer and artist, has earned himself a good reputation for his staged photography in recent years with his playful and colourful imagery. Oddvar´s strength lies not least in his versatility. Besides from the above mentioned professions, he has worked considerably in the ad sector as a stylist, hairdresser and make-up artist, in which he is very competent. Oddvar is probably best known for his collaboration with Icelandic pop star Páll Óskar. His photos of the pop icon, e.g. his record breaking album The Silver Collection are well known in Iceland.

„Da Boyz“ is a serie of cute boys where the rainbow colours as a symbol of gay pride appear in different forms. Oddvar systematically uses these colours his work.

The exhibition IKAE & Da boyz consists of two parts: „IKAE“, which ideological roots lie in the so called IKEA pictures. Here, Oddvar brings them in a brand new context. „Da Boyz“ is a serie of cute boys where the rainbow colours as a symbol of gay pride appear in different forms. Oddvar systematically uses these colours his work.

Oddvar Örn Hjartarson (1977) finished his BA from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2003. He graduated as a make-up artist from EMM School of Make up in 2005. He graduated as a professional photographer from The Danish School of Photographers in Viborg, Denmark in 2009. He will complete his hairdressing study from the School of Polytechnic in Iceland in 2011.
