Yoga Session at the Museum of Photography

Yoga Session at the Museum of Photography

Join us for a yoga session at the Museum of Photography on Saturday, 20 June at 15:00. The event is held in collaboration with the Indian Embassy. Free admission and everyone is welcome! Yoga mats will be provided.

The yoga session takes place in conjunction with Þórdís Erla’s exhibition, Heartstrings: intimacy in the everyday. In her photographs, Þórdís Erla seeks to capture the intangible aspects of people’s everyday lives within their homes and in other places that are important to them. She focuses on the relationships and feelings between individuals. Nature is an integral element of the environment and affects emotions and behaviour. To illustrate how intertwined these two are, Þórdís Erla inserts powerful atmospheric images of the Icelandic landscape alongside the photographs of people. Þórdís Erla has photographed the people—most of whom are close to her or individuals she knows well—over long periods of time. She selects moments from everyday life, small instances that tell a larger story. Access for the disabled is good Service dogs are welcome at the museum. Public transport: The nearest bus stops are called Hafnarhús, Lækjartorg, Ráðhúsið (2-5 min. away). Paid parking is available by the museum and in neighbouring parking houses.
