Midsummer Night's Walk with Stefán Pálsson
On Midsummer Night, Tuesday, 23 June at 21:30, the Reykjavík City Museum invites you to an informative nature walk from Árbær Open Air Museum into Elliðaárdalur valley. The walk will be led by historian Stefán Pálsson and conducted in Icelandic.
The route runs from Árbær Open Air Museum through historical sites in Elliðaárdalur valley and the land of Ártún. There will be stops at selected locations where stories will be told, including tales about Norwegians on skis, drunken foresters, and some of the fiercest neighborhood disputes of past centuries! Participants will meet at the entrance to Árbær Open Air Museum. The walk lasts approximately one and a half to two hours. Participation is free of charge. Everyone is welcome! Please note that the walk will take place over uneven terrain and steep slopes. Dress according to the weather.
