Come and see how fishing nets are made!

How is a fishing net actually made? What tools are used, and how do they work? Between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Thursday, October 22, a Net-Making Workshop will take place at the Reykjavík Maritime Museum. Visitors will have the opportunity to watch nets being made and may even get a chance to try knotting one themselves. There will also be a creative activity where participants can make sea creatures and hang them in the net. The workshop will be held in the Harbour Hall (Bryggjusalur) on the first floor. It is open and flexible, meaning you can drop in whenever it suits you and participate at your own pace. 🍂This event is part of the Reykjavík City Museum’s Autumn break program. Admission is free to all museum locations for adults accompanied by children 22-26 October.

The museum is wheelchair accessible, especially via the entrance on Grandagarður. An elevator connects the floors. Guide dogs are welcome. Everyone is welcome!
