Book launch at Árbær Open Air Museum

Join us for an exciting afternoon at the Árbær Open Air Museum, where guests can meet Lubbi and hear about his adventures around the museum grounds. Spoken language: Icelandic. Lubbi is the main character in a beloved Icelandic children’s book series. In the story, he is an Icelandic sheepdog who loves to bark — “woof, woof!” But more than anything, Lubbi dreams of learning to speak. To do that, he must master all the Icelandic speech sounds. Once he learns them, his málbein (speech bone) will loosen, and he’ll finally be able to talk — and he certainly has plenty to say. 🐕13:00–16:00 — Draw Your Own Lubbi Children can create their own Lubbi drawings inspired by his activity books. 🐕13:00–16:00 — Lubbi Scavenger Hunt A fun and playful treasure hunt around the museum grounds for visitors of all ages. 🐕14:00 — Author Reading & Signing Eyrún Ísfold Gísladóttir and Þóra Másdóttir, authors of the Lubbi books, read aloud for guests and sign copies. Younger visitors can explore our collection of box cars and other outdoor toys for endless entertainment.
